We live in Florida, in a county that never had a mask mandate, although plenty of people wore them. I hired a new mobile groomer who came to the door masked up and my dog, a Cavalier who loves everyone, wanted nothing to do with her. She wouldn't remove the mask. I let her groom him because he was overdue, but never called her again.
Interesting that your dogтАЩs gut instinct is whatтАЩs gone missing from millions of people. I still donтАЩt understand not being revolted by seeing people masked up. ItтАЩs eerie, humiliating and downright dispiriting.
Oh, there was a time when I was the only one who ignored the mask sign outside a business and strode through the place maskless. I'm sure I got glares, but I kept my prescription sunglasses on and walked around like I owned the place. :)
I completely agree. Everything after that was not an тАШimprovementтАЩ. One example: Call Waiting. Remember that? When youтАЩd be having a phone conversation, and the other person would say, тАЬI gotta go, IтАЩve got another call.тАЭ In other words, the other call was more important than you. It happened to me even when I had placed a long distance call, on my nickel. So, every time someone did that to me, IтАЩd hang up instead of sitting on hold.
I hated Call Waiting from Day One! I agree, itтАЩs been downhill ever since. Constant interruptions are the norm; quiet stretches of time are hard to come by.
These damn phones will be the death of civilization. I'm about ready to ditch mine.
I'm tempted, but I love listening to podcasts while I walk my dog.
I love quiet when I take walks, so no problem for me in that department. :-)
I like quiet when I walk on the beach so I can listen to the surf. But sometimes it's too windy. The dog and I got a face full of sand yesterday!
LOL, I had to read that several times before I got it.
I enjoyed that. :)
Plus I like not being tracked by big tech and government agencies.
Absolutely!
ItтАЩs a feature.
I talk to my dog while walking her. She has thus become educated on political and social issues, tho not particularly well trained.

The extended masks are the creepiest. Some people look like they're wearing feed bags. The pointy ones look like something out of a horror movie.
I agree! And how about when people let them dangle from their ears, as if waiting for the next round of dehumanization?
Unfortunately in our part of Florida everyone wore masks except us. Many still do. Dogs have such a great intuition.
Woof! Woof! ;-)

Thanks, taxpayer! Your comment made me laugh out loud.
Phone technology peaked with the answering machine.
