Dear Subscribers,
I’d like to do something different this week, and I’d like to tell you why.
Earlier this week, I was hit with a migraine that put me out of commission for three days. My guess is that it was due to the sudden death of a longtime close friend, and because dwelling in the darkness so much to create cartoons was dragging me down.
My friend, Amy Schwartz, was an accomplished children’s book writer and illustrator whose work was touching, warm and humorous. She was also a gentle, witty person and a steadfast friend for almost 40 years, and I will miss her greatly. I invite you to check out her wonderful books at amyschwartzillustration.com
I have a cartoon in mind, but I don’t want to rush it, and I’m in need of a little comic relief, so I would like to share a few cartoons I did well before the March 2020, back when it was easier to be funny.
I hope they take you out of the darkness, too!
Thank you,
Anne
