I haven't watched the evening news for more than a decade. Then one Monday morning in mid January of 2022 I heard airplane noise, so I got up and saw two C-130 planes fly in the general direction of Poland. I said to my wife that "We are now witnessing the shit hitting the fan. It's either Belarus or Ukraine." They flew in the oposite direction in the evening. This continued five days in a row.
I watched the evening news that week hoping to hear a comment on the planes. On Friday's edition of the evening news they spent seven minutes talking about the psychopath in the Kremlin. Then they spent another seven minutes talking about the brutal dictator in Belarus.
Then the news anchor says THEE most significant sentence in two decades: "The transportation of large quantities of military equipment is NOT part of a drill." Then without hesitation she quickly moves on to a fluff piece about the Norwegian Oscar nominee for best foreign movie.
Then....., four weeks later, on 02/22/2022 (that's a lot of 2s) Russia starts its SMO. Who'da thunk?
It sounds like your "news" is as easily decipherable as the US news. If one listens carefully, it is simple to separate out the glaring propaganda from tidbits they sometimes let slip accidentally. I've also found contradictions from what they say one day and then say the next. Plus on our local news -- which is also abysmal -- they can't pronounce names and provide us with unintended hilarity. My horrible governor's name is Janet, but one day they called her Janitor Mills! This delighted the people in the maintenance department at a local grocery store because Mills acts very snooty!
