Pretty much says it all. Only thing missing is the water rationing for us while they feed their lush gardens.. Kind of ironic that those most responsible for Gaia's problems project themselves as her protectors without stopping to take a breath from their continuous plunder. And they certainly don't need any input from us nomoneys. It's not like we have any relevance to them.

Thank you, dubby dove 1! I will add water rationing when I get the chance!

Hi dubby dove, Just added water rationing to the cartoon. Thanks again for the suggestion!

I think if the predators could find a way to patent air, most of us would already be dead.

Yes! Vandana Shiva says separating humans from nature is a preposterous idea - we are of nature, for crying out loud, and the more mankind has separated itself from nature and ruthlessly exploited it, the more of a mess we’ve made.

But let’s displace the indigenous people who know more than anyone else how to live with nature from their lands, and rake out the lithium, copper and I forget what else necessary for a dystopian world. Truly mad, deeply evil!

The express lanes have been installed all around the s f bay area, killafornia.

Express to death clot shot hacksxxxine from big Harma for Harmacide? Check.

Express lanes on all bay area freeways to keep you and your filthy deplorables like myself outta tha fast lanes unless you gonna pay the Man. Check.

In the city by the hate, s f killafornia, itself, they have kept many streets closed, except for the few privileged that are specially specifically allowed at the time? Check.

Freedom for me the elite, not for the those left on the street...check

Similar problem on East Coast, Grasshopper.

I-95 has an expressway around Washington D.C. and northern Virginia that is an alternative to the often heavily trafficked proletarian I-95. It was, and still may be, the most expensive stretch of highway in the U.S.

They're privatizing everything: our schools, our hospitals, our healthcare, our "public transportation", and our roads.

Another spot on cartoon/comment.

I offer in return this gem by Elinor Wylie:

"Now let no charitable hope

Confuse my mind with images

Of eagle and of antelope:

I am by nature none of these.

I was, being human, born alone;

I am, being woman, hard beset;

I live by squeezing from a stone

What little nourishment I get.

In masks outrageous and austere

The years go by in single file;

But none has merited my fear,

And none has quite escaped my smile."

tru dat. but it's what we make of it! we love, laugh, create and grow. and we appreciate other people's efforts, even if our heart-felt 'thank you' is a mere smile :-))

Hey Dosamuno! Just read that Elinor Wylie had an unhappy childhood, due to the deaths of many siblings and her parents' unhappiness. She had high blood pressure that caused unbearable migraines and died at the age of 43! Life isn't fair, and the grass is always greener unless you look at the whole picture! Who knew?

Interesting Anne. Am reading a book by Spanish writer Rosa Montero titled THE DANGERS OF BEING SANE in which she posits that a traumatic childhood is almost a prerequisite to being a writer.

Wylie certainly was beautiful. And she was a very good poet. One of my favorite poems is "Sanctuary". Check it out.

I agree that a traumatic childhood lends itself - and may be almost necessary to become a great writer.

Will c heck out this poem soon. Thanks!

This has been an issue I had to reconsider. It's so hard that they've turned our desire to protect each other and the planet against us, for their own nefarious purposes.

Reiterating the propanganda is not helpful.

Why not draw some solutions?

Thanks for letting me know your opinion of this cartoon, Joy. I have ideas in mind for about solutions that haven't taken shape visually yet.

the zealots are always hypocrites

Expand full comment

zealots are (cult-) followers, are renowned for not having a free mind and are therefore always hypocritical. they lost the ability for critical thinking, crushed their sense of responsibility and prefer to gather in herds. fortunately Anne's work reminds us of the funny bits in our critical thinking and keeps us sane among the hypocrites :-))

Thank you, mary-lou! Yes, critical thinking has gone totally out the window for those who've gone with this program. It seems facts mean virtually nothing to them.

From your lips to the ears of whatever good g-d is listening! I have a theory that somehow we're always choosing between two paths because originally we were created by extraterrestrial astronauts who we, of course, considered gods. There was a good one and a bad one. One authoritarian and controlling, who demanded obedience. The other who sought to enable humans to think, to be wise. We chose to believe the authoritarian one, out of fear no doubt, and we've been doing that ever since. I think it may be like the story of the 100 monkeys. One day soon we'll all be washing our sweet potatoes - and it will occur to us all together to stop listening and start thinking. And all will be over for the megalos!

I think we need to return the land to the Natives from whom it was stolen. They did a lot better with and for it. Maybe they haven't been completely destroyed by us and can have the compassion to teach us how to live as human beings instead of greedy selfish monsters. Even the dust bowl of the 30's - I always accepted it as a climate issue. It lasted 10 years and I never thought to research its cause. It was Europeans being given the land and not knowing how to treat it. They tore it up and caused a dust bowl that impacted the entire country from Atlantic to Pacifc Oceans.

And we can create a better world in an instant.
